About Zagora — Gateway to the Draa Valley
Zagora is a town in the valley of the Draa River in southeastern Morocco. It is flanked by the mountain Zagora and surrounded by beautiful palm groves. It is the starting point for shorter camel treks and desert excursions, famous for the painted sign in town that reads 'Timbouctou 52 jours' (Timbuktu 52 days by camel).
Zagora is a historical crossroads of trade. Positioned along the Draa River basin, it is a narrow green oasis cutting through the dry, rocky desert landscape, offering a unique gateway to the deep south.
